Details[/size:96dc429bff]
1. Prestige Points. Each player may earn a set maximum points each week, which means that participation in all game titles is not necessary to earn the weekly maximum. The prestige point values below double each month beginning in September and until the completion of the tournament, the release date of Gears of War 2.
The following points may be earned through participation in contests: [list:96dc429bff] [*:96dc429bff]Attendance (+1 point): If a gamer shows up to a contest on time and plays the entire contest, 1 point is awarded. The attendance point is also given if the gamer is required to sit due to a full room. Max: 3/week. [*:96dc429bff]Victory (+2 points): Each gamer on the winning team at the time victory is declared by the Game Master is awarded 2 points. Max: 4/week. [*:96dc429bff]AWOL Penalty (-1 point): If a gamer joins a contest and leaves prior to the time the contest is scheduled to conclude. This may also result in removal from the tournament. [*:96dc429bff]Reserves (+1 point): If a gamer is required to be on Reserve due to a full room and the player is not given a chance to enter the contest, 1 point is awarded. The Reserves point is only given if the gamer remains available and online the entire contest. Max: 3/week - player cannot earn both Reserve and Victory points in the same contest. [*:96dc429bff]Support (+2 points): If you arrive on time and there are less than 4 registered players for the contest the Game Master may award you two total points for the contest.

Other points may be awarded by fulfilling special challenges announced in the SoL forums.
2. Contest Rules. Each contest each week is governed under the rules of that title's Game Master. Game Masters will try to keep everyone informed of any contest details in that title's forum at swordoflaban.net. Because every scenario cannot be thought up ahead of time, disputes will be resolved by the appointed Game Master. If three or more participants from a given contest feel that a decision by a Game Master was unfair, the decision may be appealed to the Tournament Committee for a vote.
If there are more people wanting to play in a contest than there are slots for them, the game master will decide who can participate, but must give priority to those who are online when the invites begin taking place and (if there are still too many people) to those with the highest accumulated prestige in the community. As of the date of this announcement, everyone in the community and tournament has zero Prestige Points.
The default rule for team selection is that the two gamers with the highest prestige point total in the title are chosen as Team Captains. Beginning with the second highest total gamer, they pick the teams one gamer at a time. Game Masters may choose to deviate from this method.
Game Masters will report Prestige Point totals to the Tournament Secretary and will post their individual game totals in the gaming forums.
3. Disqualification. Failure to abide by community or tournament rules may lead to immediate disqualification.
Disclaimer. Nothing in these announcement should be construed as a contract or agreement between you and the Sword of Laban. The Sword of Laban is permitted to substitute prizes if needed (cancellation of the game title, inability to obtain Vuel-art, etc.) or for good cause. All gamers from Sword of Laban may participate, accumulate Prestige Points, and win prizes--including the Founders, the Four Horsemen, and members of the Tournament Committee.[/size:96dc429bff] |
