Posting Rules:



1. Proper Posting Procedures (top)


2. "Official" Topics (top)
    When creating Forum Topics, please do not label them as "Official". "Official" includes Announcement, Sticky or any other term that relays the designation of an official topic or posting. That is a designation which only SoL Staff* members can assign to a specific topic. If you feel your topic should be an "Official" one, then contact one of the moderators - usually, "Official" topics are reserved for important announcements, amongst other things


3. Avatar and Signature Abuse (top)
    If you have repeated abuse of the avatar file size limits or place offensive text in your signature and/or avatar, you will lose your right to post text in your signature/avatar or to have an avatar altogether. Smiley(s) are allowed in your signature as long as you do not abuse the amount used.

    Note : The maximum size of your avatar may be 80 by 80 pixels and 19.5 KB. The maximum size of your signature may be the reasonable equivalent of a 150 by 450 pixels image plus one line of text and/or 1 mini-sig no larger than 20 by 450 pixels.


4. No Spamming (top)

    Spamming is not allowed. Spamming Includes:

    a. Posting for the sole purpose of increasing your post count.

    b. Posts made merely out of boredom.

    c. Posting few words with no relation to the topic or post.

    d. Posting a Smiley(s) with little or no words.

    e. Resurrecting old topics, unless it is necessary.

    f. Posting "Bump" in an attempt to bump a thread up.

    g. Posting to ask people to reply to your thread.

    We are very lenient on posts considered to be "spam", however we reserve the right to edit and/or delete posts, or take other actions against offenders.


5. SoL Staff Members (top)
    No impersonating staff members. This includes reprimanding other members or harassing them by telling them "what to do". ONLY the SoL Staff members have the authority to advise or warn members according to their infractions. If you see a bad post, PM an SoL Staff member. Feel free to politely suggest or inform a member when he has posted incorrectly, but allow the Staff members to perform their duties and do not take this role on yourself. A list of SoL Staff Members can be found at the bottom of this post


6. Reporting Bad/Improper Posts (top)
    If a member's post is in violation with one or more of these rules, please leave it to a SoL Staff member to inform this person of his wrong doings and let them deal with the topic. You may also report a "bad post" by sending a PM to an SoL Staff member.


7. No Explicit Nor Injurious Material (top)
    This includes pornographic and cadaverous images, links or creation of topics regarding unsafe or dangerous practices and "stunts" as well as the use of firearms/weapons/explosives.


8. No Posting of Drug-related Content (top)
    This includes discussion of "recreational" drug use, illegal drugs, posting images of drugs or drug paraphernalia, etc.


9. No Warez (top)
    This includes links to warez sites, posting illegal software, serials, and cracks. Suggesting getting something via a P2P program will not be tolerated.


10. No Flaming (top)
    Disrespectful or unnecessarily rude behavior against other members or staff will not be tolerated. Do not instigate a flame. If you are a veteran member, please act like one. Assist new members at the forums instead of attacking them- "n00b bashing" is not allowed and will be dealt with accordingly.


11. No Swearing (top)
    Any swearing, whether done out of "fun" or argument will be dealt with immediately.


12. No Offensive Posts (top)
    This includes racism, threats, retaliation and any other hateful posts. If you are being offended in anyway via PM by a member, please contact an SoL Staff member about this.


13. Test Posts/Topics (top)
    No testing topics in any forum. If you want to see your signature or avatar, there is one thread in Art where you can post once to see if it works and to see if it fits the requirements.


14. No Extensive Advertising (top)
    If you have a new game related website, it's ok to post about it ONCE, but not more than once. Any other subjects are not allowed.


15. No Cross Posting (top)
    Cross posting is posting the same question/remark in several forums at the same time. Please post your topic once and be patient until somone responds.


16. User Accounts (top)
    You are not allowed to have more than 1 account per person. If you have lost or forgotten your password, see the next rule (Lost or Forgotten Passwords). If you haven't forgotten or lost your password but still can't get in...it's probably because you've been banned. Creating another username after being banned will get all accounts deleted, and further action may be taken.


17. Lost or Forgotten Password (top)
    If you have forgotten or lost your password, do not create a new account. Use the password recovery feature by clicking on the login link, and selecting the 'I Forgot My Password' option below the login box.


18. Respect Towards Staff (top)
    We ask that you respect the staff at Sword of Laban and the decisions they make - therefore, please take note of the following:

    a. If you have been moderated/advised by one of the staff members, do not take these actions personally. Warnings and disciplinary actions are based on good judgement, common sense and the above specified rules.

    b. If a signature, avatar, post or topic is edited by the administration, it is not intended to intimidate nor openly humiliate anyone - the SoL Staff's purpose is to keep this site running as smoothly and organized as possible.

    c. Topics and posts questioning the actions of an SoL Staff member will be deleted. You can, however, PM an SoL Staff member and discuss it with them.

    d. Breaking one or more of the above rules can result in your account being blocked permanently. Depending on the extremities of the violation, you will first be warned, banned or lose the account immediately. If you need further help, contact an SoL Staff member.


Notice
These rules are set for EVERYONE. It doesn't matter if you're a newbie, have 2500 posts or rank a 50 in Halo 2, everyone should follow them. If you see someone breaking a rule, notify a member of the SoL Staff right away so that action may be taken.
