The Sword of Laban Chronicles

The pitiful whining call that makes any mother, whether novice or veteran, run and hide, and yet we don’t hear it on our forums.  Well I guess we hear it whenever the new flavor of fudge is announced.  Why don’t we hear it?  Because we have the coolest Clan MoM in the gaming universe.  She may be surrogate mother to other clans but she’s ours first.  What else do we know about this amazing woman aside from her legendary prowess at the mystical art of chocolate alchemy?  Well she claims to have been a ballerina though I think I have only actually seen a picture of her feet in toe shoes.  I think this claim should be substantiated by more pictures.  Now let’s see. . .she is an architect, no quesitons there.  The homes she designs are gamer paradises and etertaining marvels.  I wonder if I were to buy a home and then knock down all but the outside walls, could she come in and build it up for me?  Or would that just make the whole thing implode?  I also seem to remember something about a penchant for donning wigs and living on the wild side.  I’m not 100% sure but I really think this is our very own beloved clan MoM, though what she’s doing is anyone’s guess.

Benjamin Cook, alias Jedi Knight GenKenobi, alter ego Sith Lord Exar Kum, has been in our clan from the earliest of days.  He was a skilled member of the staff, chief of staff, and overlord in the subsidiary clan Truth.  Currently he is serving a mission in Illinois but he still pops in once and awhile to update us on his exploits in the glorious Midwest.  His current location is Rantoul, Illinois.  I’ve never been there but I’m sure it is fabulous and muggy this time of year.  Before donning the missionary garb, Kenobi lived on a horse ranch with his sisters and parents where they raised Arabian Stallions.  He is best buddies with some guy named Panty and together they and she-who-must-not-be-named spent many happy hours playing Halo, much to the amusement of their opponents I’m sure.  Here is Kenobi using the force as he battles the very dangerous and powerful Sith Lord Airsick Dragon.

4. Favorite founder and why? Heat Exchanger- Do you ever hear any problems from him? no- but if you’re online and you want to play halo with him he’s up for it… just don’t get into SoL Politics
5. Bath or shower? Shower- quick, fast- wakes you up.
6. Do you prefer video games with guns, cars, piñatas, or martial arts weapons?  like, nun-chuck skillz? or bow skillz? umm… none of the above
7. If you were to play a video game for 24 hours straight what would it be? What games haven’t I played for 24 hours straight would be a shorter list! umm Halo2, WoW, Marrowind, the list just goes on and on… those ones are probably the good ones though
8. What color do you wear most often? Black and red.
9. Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks? ummm either or, or just mix them! Like skittles in popcorn… love it
10. Does eating a donut with a jelly center count as a serving of fruit for the day? Only if you get it on your lips and you have to lick it off!

Our all American boy, Ronin Victory, grew up on Folly Beach, a place he describes as Mayberry in feel.  He was a baseball player in college and has served as a marine.  (I bet he even likes homemade apple pie and speeches on the fourth of July.)  His aspiration is to become a high school football coach, a very noble goal, but first he’d like to be a lawyer, another excellent goal.  *wink wink*  Gaming began early for young Ronin when his father brought home and Atari with Pac-man and Space Invaders.  His passion for gaming, however, shares space in his heart with a desire to write that has driven him halfway through his first authored novel.  He won’t disclose any details about this work in progress but perhaps he’ll give us all first editions when it’s published.  *wink wink nudge nudge*  If not, I’m sure we’ll all settle for autographed third editions.  Ronin is happily engaged to the greatest woman in the world and owner of a very fabulous piñata garden with a rare species known as the Ronilla as chief resident.  Here is an artist’s rendering of the Ronilla.  Please allow some latitude to the drawing since the artist no sooner spotted the Ronilla before they were promptly scuttled out of the garden by some shovel-carrying woman screaming “death by Lethal” or some such nonsense.

1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?  Rocky Road ice cream. Can’t beat Marshmallows, nuts, and chocolate.
2. Book genre you read the most.  Tough, I read anything samurai related. So mostly Japanese storylines.
3. Best subforum is. . .?  Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo who?
4. Favorite founder and why?   Goof is my favorite founder, and just because you can’t go wrong liking someone whose name came from a cartoon.
5. Bath or shower?   BATH! Yes, I am a guy, but as you get older, laying in warm water eases the pain of age.
6. Do you prefer video games with guns, cars, piñatas, or martial arts weapons?  Martial Arts weapons, wait till Assasin’s Creed comes out. I am going to have a dagger in places you shouldn’t carry anything!7. If you were to play a video game for 24 hours straight what would it be?   One that is out or not. Assasin’s Creed when it comes out. I played Final Fantasy XII for about 18 or 19 hours straight one time, so I will go with that one.8. What color do you wear most often?  I am a royal blue or grey guy.
9. Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks?  Going to go with salty. I preferred sweet growing up, but your taste change.
10. Do you prefer your marshmallows golden brown or crispy black?   Golden brown, if I wanted to eat burnt to a crisp I would just roast paper, same texture, bout same flavor.

And boy will it ever be told.  Tru7h Seeker, Mat, grew up in rural West Virginia.  As a child his least favorite chores were cleaning the cat box and pulling nails out of boards.  *cough*redneck*cough*   He enjoyed playing on the swings at recess.  The feeling of losing your stomach is “the l33tness”.  To this day he prefers to have his feet tightly covered by the bed sheets when he sleeps and, though he wouldn’t reveal his parent’s nickname for him, his wife of 7 years, Lori, calls him Maty.  (He hates it)

In school Maty enjoyed science, history and literature.  Today he has degrees in Bible studies and speaks some ancient languages to boot.  Can’t get more literary or historical than that.  I guess his childhood love of science was played out in his brief management of Cool Beans, an establishment renowned for its fudge secrets.

 And now follows a brief story of Tru7h’s heroism and bravery.  When he was in 5^th or 6^th grade the family dog ran away and Tru7h and his brother went searching for it.  Tru7h’s brother tried walking on some thin ice over a river and fell in.  Tru7h pulled him from the water, undoubtedly saving his life.  This act cemented in Tru7h’s mind the sanctioning of all subsequent teasing he would unleash on his brother.  Today they are good friends but possibly only because his brother has since joined the army and is no longer picked on.
